Sometimes you have to trick it with a fake task. Invent an essay or homework you HAVE to do, and then you’ll go, “…eh, screw this! I’m gonna draw COMICS”.

But if I was playing a game that only used the position of my body and the expression on my face, how would anyone know I was playing video games? The new microsoft system spells doom for comic artists everywhere!

Ha ha ha, this is so damn true! That’s me, near enough every day, I spend all day avoiding work while dreaming up the greatest ever comics never seen but by the time I’m home, I’m taken over by some lazy brainless guy who just wants to sit playing video games or watching Ashes to Ashes.

I like to think that if I didn’t have to work I would be a comics creating machine, but I suspect I’d just spend all day playing video games instead. And silently weeping.

Most recently I’ve actually been playing Plants Vs Zombies on my PC (see previous LJ entry), but since I play it on my cintiq using a stylus it would actually just look like I was drawing, which would have made for a really confusing final panel. I have used ARTISTIC LICENSE, and I liked it.

You know, the only reason I started drawing is so I could get an ARTISTIC LICENSE. But it is awkward when I go to get it out of my wallet and I can’t find it cause I didn’t put it back in its usual pocket and I end up fumbling around for it wondering if I left it on the counter back at the bagel shop…
